Our History

In the heart of the Périgord Noir, a wine cellar dating back to the 1st century AD was discovered by archaeologists in 1956, confirming that the Dordogne Valley between Beynac and Saint-Cyprien was one of the oldest wine-growing regions in France.

In the 19th century, phylloxera almost completely destroyed these vineyards. Later, in 1923, Saint-Cyprien was deliberately excluded by Bergerac from access to the AOC appellation. These two events left only a few vineyard plots surviving…

Nathalie and Marc Dalbavie undertook the revival of a vineyard on this lost wine-growing terroir in the heart of the Périgord Noir, creating the Domaine de la Voie Blanche.

The planting of the Joualles vineyards in Saint-Cyprien was carried out in two phases (2006 and 2007).
